Text Diff

Compare two texts side by side and instantly see what changed. Added, removed, and unchanged lines highlighted. Free, no signup.

What is Text Diff?

The Text Diff tool compares two pieces of text and highlights every difference. Added lines are shown in green, removed lines in red, and unchanged lines stay neutral — giving you an instant, scannable view of exactly what changed.

Use it to compare contract revisions, spot edits in articles, debug configuration files, or check what changed between two versions of any document.

Everything runs in your browser — your text is never sent to a server.

Frequently asked questions

QDoes it compare word-by-word or line-by-line?

The tool compares line by line. Each added or removed line is shown separately, making it easy to scan large text changes.

QCan I compare code?

Yes. The diff is purely text-based, so it works for any text including source code, JSON, config files, or prose.

QIs my text safe?

Yes. Everything runs entirely in your browser. No text is transmitted to any server.
